It all began with a simple idea and a passion for culinary education. After twenty-five years as a
pastry chef and instructor, four of those years spent successfully running the Pastry Live event,
Chef Paul Bodrogi came to the conclusion that there was a void within the culinary world for
affordable, high-quality education when it came to the Pastry Arts. Throughout his experiences,
he met and connected with chefs who also shared his passion for culinary education, but who
similarly saw this same lack of quality instruction. With all of the current technology and
talented chefs out there, why couldn’t the learning experience become easier and just overall
better? Thus the idea behind Pastry University was born.
Once the ball was rolling, things took on a life of their own. Renovations to a small warehouse
space and an overwhelming amount of support from a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the
project launched the concept in motion, all within the blink of an eye. Pulling together some
of the biggest names in pastry for the first video shoots brought that original, simple idea into
reality: to create an affordable, cutting-edge learning experience for pastry chefs worldwide.
